John Dang, O.D.
Dr. John Dang is a native of Houston, TX. He attended high school at the DeBakey High School for Health Professions and later graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Prior to pursing his career in optometry, he worked at Baker Hughes as an engineer. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He also received additional training in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment at Herman Eye Center with Dr. Robert Feldman, MD. Dr. Dang was a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association.
As a licensed therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist, he is highly skilled in diagnosing and treating patients with glaucoma, eye infections, and ocular surface diseases. Dr. Dang has many years of experience in all aspect of primary eye care and fitting the latest contact lenses. Dr. Dang also provides cataract and LASIK co-management with many top surgeon’s in the greater Houston area.
Prior to joining Vision Source, Dr. Dang has been taking care of his patients in a private practice setting. He enjoys getting to know his patients and their family. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and playing softball and basketball.
Jenny Mak, O.D.
Dr. Jenny Mak received her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She continued her studies at University of Houston College of Optometry, where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree. She graduated with Magna cum Laude honors in 2008. She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometry Honor Society, Dean’s List, Texas Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association.
As a licensed therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist, Dr. Mak emphasized in all areas of primary eye care, including complex contact lens fitting, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, treatment of eye infections and ocular surface diseases, and dry eyes treatment. She also provides diabetic eye exams as well as LASIK and cataract co-management.
Dr. Mak strongly believes in patient education. She is dedicated to provide quality eye care for her patients as if they are members of her family. She enjoys building relationships with her patients and their families. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Mak enjoys traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.
